Israel Adesanya has expressed his determination to keep moving forward despite suffering his fourth consecutive loss at the hands of American contender, Joe Pyfer, via technical knockout on UFC Fight Night 271 in Seattle, USA, on Saturday.
In the opening round, Adesanya implemented his classic “stylebender” combat strategy marked by distance control with precise jabs and low kicks, as well as sharp counterattacks. However, he lost the fight when Pyfer grappled him to the canvas and engaged in a ground-and-pound, thereby causing Herb Dean, the referee-in-charge, to stop the fight.
Speaking in a post-fight interview with Daniel Cormier who extolled him as one of the greatest champions in UFC history, Adesanya demonstrated his determination to press on despite failing to secure a win in the match.
“I keep going again and again and again and again and again. I’m not f**king leaving. You will never stop me. I might get beaten, but I will always remain undefeated”, he asserted.
This defeat marks Adesanya’s fourth consecutive loss in the UFC octagon. It has, in turn, sparked conversations and concerns concerning the dwindling dominance of the Nigerian mixed martial artist among the list of top-ranking UFC fighters.
