Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has expressed his support for President Bola Tinubu during a visit to the President’s Lagos residence on Monday.
The visit, Fayose said, was aimed at encouraging Tinubu and acknowledging his efforts in stabilising Nigeria’s economy.
Fayose revealed this while addressing reporters after the meeting.
Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Fayose noted that although he had been a vocal critic of the previous administration led by Muhammadu Buhari, he had always held a different view of President Tinubu’s leadership abilities even while serving as a governor under the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

“I was once a critic of the last administration, but you can’t compare the situation now, for me, I’m here to visit him for his homecoming and to encourage him to do more,” Fayose remarked.
He added, “I have always believed in President Tinubu’s leadership, even when I was a PDP Governor. The only thing we can do as leaders in this country is to encourage him—to lift up his hands and help the public understand the task of reviving an economy that was down and is now being stabilised.”
