Waje revealed that she often felt uncomfortable with her physique in her early years, especially during her 20s.
According to her, she tried to conceal her body shape due to insecurity. She admitted that she went to great lengths to hide what she described as her “heaviness at the top,” even before becoming a mother.
“Even before I had my child, I have always been heavy at the top. I used to hide it,” she said. “In my 20s, I used to wear like three bras. I used to be very uncomfortable about how heavy I was at the top.”
Furthermore, Waje explained that her perspective gradually changed as she grew older. Over time, she became more comfortable in her own skin and began to embrace her natural body.
She noted that motherhood played a significant role in shaping her self-image. According to her, becoming a mother helped her appreciate her body differently and contributed to her personal growth.
In addition, the singer credited some of her close friends for helping her overcome her insecurities. She mentioned rapper Jude Abaga and professional dancer Kaffy as key figures who supported her during that period.
Waje said their encouragement helped her develop a thicker skin and become less affected by negative comments. She explained that their support gave her the confidence to ignore criticism and focus on her strengths.
Moreover, she emphasised the importance of self-acceptance and growth. Her story highlighted how personal experiences, supportive relationships, and life changes can influence self-confidence.
