World-famous boxer Anthony Joshua was involved in a road traffic accident on Monday in Makun, Ogun State.
According to eyewitness accounts, the crash occurred along a busy stretch of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
Joshua was travelling in a Lexus SUV with registration number KRD 850 HN when the vehicle reportedly rammed into a stationary truck. The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are still under investigation.
The accident which happened shortly before the Danco Filling Station along the expressway led to the death of two persons.
Following the accident, fans and well-wishers have taken to social media to express concern for Joshua, while security and emergency officials continue to assess the situation and determine the cause of the crash.
As of the time of filing this report, attempts to obtain further details from the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) Commandant, Akinbiyi Babatunde, were unsuccessful, as calls to his phone were not answered.
