President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering resolve to mobilise all military and law enforcement assets to crush security threats and protect the lives of all Nigerian citizens.
The President made this declaration yesterday while declaring open the Chief of Army Staff Annual Conference 2025 at Nebo Hall, Abalti Barracks, in Ojuelegba, Lagos.
Represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, the President identified security as a central pillar of his Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that no nation can achieve greatness without it.

A major highlight of the conference was the President’s announcement of significant investments in military hardware to modernise the Armed Forces.
These include the acquisition of additional Mine-Resistant Ambush-Protected (MRAP) vehicles, new armoured vehicles, and patrol vehicles to enhance troop protection and battlefield effectiveness, the successful refurbishment of over 100 Armoured Fighting Vehicles, which have now been returned to active service and the advancement of the Nigerian Army Aviation wing following the recent induction of helicopters and the completion of pilot training.
The President emphasised that these efforts are aimed at achieving long-term self-reliance through indigenous defence production and research partnerships with friendly nations.
Tinubu commended the Nigerian Army for its “impressive gains” against terrorism and banditry.
He noted that reports from various theatres of operation indicate improved outcomes driven by courage, professionalism, and effective joint operations with sister services.
Despite these successes, he charged the troops to remain disciplined and strictly adhere to constitutional order.
He described the military’s apolitical posture as vital to sustaining public trust.
“The positive reports emerging from the various theatres of operation are encouraging and stand as testimony to your resilience and professionalism,” the President remarked.
The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, unveiled a new range of welfare packages designed to boost morale.
To underscore this commitment, Shettima presented 15 Toyota Hilux vehicles to deserving warranKaht officers and witnessed the presentation of insurance cheques to the families of five fallen soldiers.
