President Bola Tinubu will attend the coronation of Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
This event will bring together prominent figures from Yoruba royalty, politics, business, and thousands of people from Ibadan.
The coronation ceremony will take place on Friday, September 26, 2025, at the historic Mapo Hall grounds.

The Planning and Organising Committee, led by Chairman Bayo Oyero, unveiled a week-long schedule of events to commemorate the coronation.
The festivities, which begin on Monday, September 22, are designed to honour Ibadan’s rich cultural heritage.
Interdenominational prayers will be held at the Olubadan Palace on Monday, September 22.
A cultural festival will take place at the Olubadan Stadium on Tuesday, September 23.
On Wednesday, September 24, renowned scholar Professor Toyin Falola will deliver a coronation lecture at the University of Ibadan.
A praise and worship concert will be held on Thursday, September 25, coinciding with Oba Ladoja’s 81st birthday.
The main coronation ceremony will take place at Mapo Hall on Friday, September 26.
A thanksgiving service will be held at the Catholic Cathedral on Sunday, September 28.
The celebrations will end with a special Jumat service on Friday, October 3.
Oyero described Oba Ladoja’s ascension as a long journey shaped by his distinguished career as a former senator, engineer, and governor of Oyo State.
His diverse background, according to Oyero, makes him well-equipped to lead Ibadan into a new era of progress and peace.
The coronation is not only a traditional rite for Ibadan but also a broader celebration of Yoruba heritage and Nigerian culture.
Otunba Ademola Ojo, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, confirmed that extensive security measures are in place, with over 2,000 security operatives deployed to ensure the event is peaceful.
The event will be broadcast live on television, radio, and social media platforms for a global audience.

The organising committee also acknowledged Governor Seyi Makinde for his significant financial and moral support, which they noted was crucial for the event’s success.
Fuji music stars Saheed Osupa and Taye Currency are scheduled to perform as part of the celebrations.
