President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to leave Abuja on Thursday, August 14, for a two-nation visit to Japan and Brazil.
The President will make a stopover in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, before heading to Japan.
In Japan, Tinubu will attend the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9), which will be held in Yokohama from August 20 to 22.

The conference, themed “Co-create Innovative Solutions with Africa”, will focus on promoting Africa’s economic transformation, improving the business environment, and fostering a resilient and sustainable African society.
While at TICAD9, the President is expected to participate in plenary sessions and hold bilateral meetings with Japanese officials.
He will also meet with CEOs of Japanese companies that have invested in Nigeria.
TICAD is a triennial conference that serves as a high-level policy dialogue platform between African leaders and development partners.
It was initiated by Japan in 1993 and is co-hosted by the United Nations, UNDP, the African Union Commission, and the World Bank.
Following the conference, Tinubu will travel to Brasilia, Brazil for a two-day state visit from August 24, at the invitation of Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

During his time in Brazil, Tinubu will hold a bilateral meeting with his host and attend a business forum with Brazilian investors.
The President’s delegation, which includes key ministers and senior officials, will seek to enhance cooperation and sign agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with the Brazilian government.
