President Bola Tinubu has signed into law the South-West Development Commission Bill, the South-South Development Commission Bill, and the Nigeria Anti-Doping Bill, 2025.
In a statement announcing the presidential assent, Special Adviser on Senate Matters, Basheer Lado, emphasised that the newly enacted laws demonstrate Tinubu’s dedication to fostering regional growth, economic development, and Nigeria’s international standing.
“With the establishment of the South-West and South-South Development Commissions, President Tinubu has reinforced his vision of equitable development across all regions, prioritizing economic expansion, infrastructure advancement, and social progress,” Lado stated.

He noted that the commissions are designed to drive industrialization, boost job creation, and accelerate infrastructural development, ensuring that all parts of the country benefit from the administration’s strategic initiatives.
On the Nigeria Anti-Doping Bill, 2025, Lado highlighted its significance in strengthening integrity in sports.
He explained that by aligning with the UNESCO International Convention Against Doping in Sports, Nigeria is taking proactive steps to uphold fairness in athletics while protecting its athletes from unethical practices.
“These efforts solidify Nigeria’s reputation as a nation that values fairness, excellence, and sportsmanship on the global stage,” he added.
