President Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja following his participation in the Aqaba Process Heads of State and Government-level Meeting held in Rome, Italy, on Wednesday, October 15.
Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy announced this in a statement on Saturday.

The closed-door meeting focused on enhancing regional and international cooperation in the fight against terrorism and violent extremism, with a specific emphasis on the challenges facing West Africa.
The high-level summit was co-chaired by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Government of Italy.
The event, which took place at the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rome, was well-attended by global leaders.
Tinubu was joined by King Abdullah II of Jordan and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, as well as the Presidents of Chad, Paraguay, Sierra Leone, and Togo.
Other participants included the President of Algeria’s Upper House, delegations from Côte d’Ivoire, Kazakhstan, Mauritania, Senegal, and Uzbekistan, along with various special envoys and security experts.
The Aqaba Process, launched by King Abdullah II in 2015, operates on three core pillars: prevention, coordination, and closing operational gaps in counterterrorism.
Since its inception, the initiative has convened 33 meetings at different levels.
On the sidelines of the counter-terrorism summit, Tinubu engaged in several bilateral meetings.
He held talks with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and with the U.S. President Donald Trump’s Senior Adviser on Arab and African Affairs, Massad Boulos.
Furthermore, Tinubu met with the Vatican’s Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, where they discussed the issue of religious harmony in Nigeria.

The discussion addressed what the government described as widespread disinformation campaigns that inaccurately portray Nigeria as intolerant of religious diversity.
