President Bola Tinubu on Thursday assured the global community that Nigeria is fully committed to promoting peace, harmony, and prosperity across borders by strengthening partnerships to resolve emerging challenges.
The President gave the assurance in Abuja after receiving Letters of Credence from 17 ambassadors and four high commissioners at the Council Chamber in the State House.
Tinubu welcomed the diplomats, stating that their accreditation reaffirms the depth of bilateral ties and the shared commitment to expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

He noted that the government remains focused on strengthening democratic institutions, driving economic reforms, and creating an enabling environment for investment, innovation, and sustainable development.
The President encouraged deeper engagements with Nigeria across key sectors, including trade, energy, agriculture, education, technology, defence cooperation, and cultural exchange.
He addressed the evolving challenges facing the global community, such as security threats, climate pressures, economic instability, and humanitarian issues.
Tinubu affirmed that Nigeria is ready to work closely with your governments to promote peace, stability and prosperity.
He assured the envoys of his open-door policy for constructive engagements.
Speaking on behalf of the newly accredited diplomats, the Ambassador of Japan, Suzuki Hideo, expressed honour and gratitude for the moment, noting the historic significance of presenting credentials in Nigeria, given its unique position in ECOWAS and Africa.
Ambassador Hideo offered profound admiration for Tinubu’s visionary leadership and steadfast commitment to economic transformation.
He commended the bold reforms being implemented to strengthen Nigeria’s fiscal framework, attract investment, and promote inclusiveness, as well as the recent efforts to reinforce national security through intensified counter-terrorism strategies.
He added that Nigeria’s contributions to economic prosperity and political stability in ECOWAS and Africa have placed the country in a good position for global recognition, describing Nigeria as a beacon of resilience and promise.

The 21 diplomats who presented their letters of credence represent countries across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and Africa.
They include ambassadors from Japan, Chad, Gabon, Türkiye, Palestine, Spain, Indonesia, Mauritania, Austria, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Poland, Italy, the Slovak Republic, Iran, and Liberia. High Commissioners were received from Bangladesh, Ghana, India, and the Non-Resident High Commissioner of Barbados.
