President Bola Tinubu has extended his congratulations to two prominent Nigerians, Farouk Gumel and Tobi Amusan, for their recent significant accomplishments.
The President praised Farouk Gumel on his appointment as the Chairman of the Botswana Sovereign Wealth Fund Limited.
Tinubu in a statement by Bayo Onanuga, his Special Adviser on Information & Strategy on Tuesday described the appointment as a clear reflection of Gumel’s expertise and commitment, highlighting the global recognition of Nigerian professionals.

He noted Gumel’s past contributions to Nigeria’s food security as the Vice Chairman for Africa at the Tropical General Investment (TGI) Group, expressing confidence that Gumel’s leadership would further solidify Nigeria’s reputation for excellence in global finance.
Tinubu also congratulated Tobi Amusan for winning a silver medal in the women’s 100m hurdles at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan.
Tinubu lauded her resilience and unwavering spirit, stating that her achievement is a source of national pride.

He added that Amusan’s performance demonstrates that “with patriotic fervour, coupled with hard work and determination, any height is surmountable.”
