President Bola Tinubu has appointed the Deputy Controller‑General, Olumode Adeyemi, as the new Controller‑General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS), with effect from 14th August 2025.
The announcement was made by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) in a statement signed by its Secretary, Major General A.M. Jibril (Rtd).
Adeyemi’s appointment follows the impending retirement of the current Controller‑General, Engr. Jaji Olola Abdulganiyu, who is set to leave office in mid-August upon reaching the statutory retirement age of 60.
A veteran in fire service management, Adeyemi has served in both the Federal Capital Territory Fire Service and the Federal Fire Service.
Until his appointment, he held the position of Deputy Controller‑General in charge of Administration and Supply at the Service Headquarters.

He is recognised for his administrative acumen and has undertaken extensive professional and leadership training, both within and outside Nigeria.
Adeyemi holds membership in several professional bodies, including the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria, the Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria, and the Chartered Institute of Treasury Management of Nigeria.
The CDCFIB also expressed gratitude to the outgoing Controller‑General, Engr. Abdulganiyu, for his dedicated service and notable contributions to institutional reform and operational enhancement during his tenure.
