Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has listed Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, former Justice Minister, Abubakar Malami as witnesses to testify in his favour in the ongoing terrorism charges against him at a Federal High Court, Abuja.
Others persons he wants to court to subpoenaed to appear and testify on his behalf include the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, former Chief of Army Staff, General Tukur Buratai, General TY Danjuma and former Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu.
Kanu, in a fresh motion he filed before the court on Wednesday, listed the persons vital witnesses to prove his innocence.

Others are the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi; immediate past former Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, NIA, Ahmed Rufai Abubakar; as well as the former Director-General of the Department of State Services, DSS, Yusuf Bichi.
Kanu, in the motion dated October 21 and marked: FHC/ABJ/CR/383/2015, equally hinted that he would call other persons whose names were not on the list he submitted.
The motion, which he personally signed, was titled “Notice of Number and Names of Witnesses to be Called by the Defendant and Request for Witness Summons/Subpoena and the Variation of the Time Within Which to Defend the Counts/Charges against the Defendant.”
According to the embattled IPOB leader, his witnesses would be grouped into two categories.
While the first group would comprise of “ordinary but material witnesses,” the second batch would consist of “vital and compellable witnesses,” who would be summoned under Section 232 of the Evidence Act, 2011.
Besides, Kanu said he would equally mount the witness box to testify in his own defence, adding that he would provide sworn statements from “all voluntary witnesses” and serve same on the prosecution in due time.

“No precious time of the honourable court would be wasted,” he assured.
He is facing a seven count terrorism charge.
