The Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), has forgiven actress Nkechi Blessing after she publicly apologized three years after her suspension.
The issue that led to her suspension began in 2021 when she (Blessing) engaged in a social media fight with fellow actor, Kehinde Adams, better known as Lege Miami, over the arrest of another actor, Baba Ijesha.
Baba Ijesha would eventually be convicted of assaulting a minor. Blessing’s subsequent criticism of TAMPAN led to her suspension.
However, she recently apologized to TAMPAN at the Nigerian Canadian Celebrities Entertainment Awards in Toronto.
In a now-viral video, the 35-year-old knelt before Bolaji Amusan, the TAMPAN president better known as Mr Latin, seeking forgiveness.
Blessing acknowledged the significant impact the association has had on her career, expressing gratitude and remorse.
She said, “I am deeply sorry for all I did. I am so sorry. I beg you from the bottom of my heart to please forgive me. I appreciate the industry. You all made me who I am today. I would not be anyone if not because of you.”
