Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State is set to commission a new network of roads in the Badagry area on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
This initiative is a key part of the administration’s broader effort to extend infrastructure development throughout the state.
The Badagry Network of Roads includes the Aradagun-Mosafejo-Ilado-Imeke Road, Samuel Ekundayo Road, and Hospital Road, which span across the Badagry Local Government and Olorunda Local Council Development Areas.

According to a statement from the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, the state government views infrastructure as a crucial driver of economic growth.
The road projects are aligned with the “Traffic Management and Transportation” pillar of the administration’s THEMES Plus agenda, which aims to improve trade, facilitate multi-modal transportation, and open up remote areas for development.
Omotoso highlighted that this is the latest in a series of infrastructure projects, with the governor having commissioned 39 roads and five bridges in recent months.
The new road network is expected to provide significant benefits, including boosting commerce, improving access to tourist sites, and enhancing connectivity between communities.

The Hospital Road, in particular, will serve as a vital link to popular tourist attractions such as the First Storey Building in Nigeria and the Heritage Museum.
The government believes these projects will not only improve the lives of residents but also contribute to the state’s and nation’s Gross Domestic Product.
