Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has called on local and international investors to take advantage of the expanding economic opportunities in the state, citing Lagos’ rising ease of doing business ranking and major improvements in its investment climate.
Sanwo-Olu made the appeal on Tuesday during the inauguration of TY Logistics Park, FZE—an ultra-modern warehousing and trade complex developed by TY Holdings and situated in Alaro City, within the Lekki Free Zone. The facility, spanning 29,000 square metres, is expected to serve as a major boost to Nigeria’s logistics and supply chain infrastructure.
According to a statement posted on the Lagos State Government’s official X account, the governor noted that Lagos recently clinched the top position in the latest Subnational Ease of Doing Business report released by the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC). Lagos scored 85.6 per cent, earning the distinction of Nigeria’s best-performing investment destination.
Sanwo-Olu said the achievement was a reflection of the state’s sustained reforms, infrastructure upgrades and deliberate economic policies aimed at making Lagos the most viable market for enterprise and innovation. He added that the establishment of TY Logistics Park reinforces Lagos’ growing status as an industrial and commercial powerhouse.
Speaking alongside Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, who joined him for the commissioning, Sanwo-Olu commended TY Holdings for maintaining confidence in Lagos’ economy. He described the logistics facility as “a landmark investment that strengthens the economic narrative of Lagos and supports its long-term development blueprint”.
The governor emphasised that the development aligns with Lagos’ broader objective of modernising the logistics sector, promoting industrial growth, and attracting both domestic and foreign investment. He highlighted the rapid transformation of Alaro City into one of sub-Saharan Africa’s emerging industrial hubs.
Sanwo-Olu also disclosed ongoing plans to improve mobility and trade efficiency along the fast-developing Lekki corridor. These include a dedicated road that will link Lekki Port, the Dangote Refinery and Alaro City—an intervention expected to ease traffic pressure on the Lekki–Epe Expressway and facilitate smoother movement of goods.
He further revealed that Lagos is currently developing what will become the largest food logistics hub in West Africa, intended to bolster food security, reduce wastage and stabilise supply chains.
In his remarks, Governor Kefas praised the initiative and expressed pride in Taraba State’s participation in the project. He said the logistics hub would strengthen inter-state trade, particularly the movement of agricultural produce from Taraba to Lagos’ processing facilities and markets.
The inauguration of TY Logistics Park marks another step in Lagos’ broader investment drive, as the state positions itself as a regional centre for logistics, manufacturing and innovation.
