Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has commissioned seven road projects spanning over 16 kilometers in Badagry Local Government and Olorunda LCDA.
The new infrastructure is designed to serve as “lifelines” connecting more than eight communities to key amenities and cultural sites.
A highlight of the new projects is the expansion of the Samuel Ekundayo-Toga Road into a dual carriageway.

This upgrade is expected to ease traffic congestion and improve access to the Lagos-Badagry Expressway, particularly around areas like Limca, Ibereko, and the Badagry Roundabout.
The Hospital Road was also upgraded, improving connectivity to significant landmarks such as the Agbalata Market, Nigeria’s First Storey Building, and the Heritage Museum.
Sanwo-Olu emphasised Badagry’s strategic importance, not only to Lagos but to Nigeria as a whole.
He noted its potential as a major center for tourism and cross-border trade, given its position as a gateway to five West African countries.
The governor’s message also addressed ongoing projects in other areas, including Oko Afo, Ilogbo, Eremi, and Pota, assuring residents that work is in progress and thanking them for their patience.
