A security guard identified as Godday has been arrested by operatives of the Amadi Police Division for the alleged abduction, defilement, and robbery of a 14-year-old girl in the Trans-Amadi area of Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
According to the Revelation Agent report on Sunday, the suspect was reportedly securing a defunct commercial bank building near Mothercat Junction when the incident occurred.
More detail, however, noted that the alleged suspect was arrested on 23 September, by Amadi Police personnel working with security staff from a commercial bank near Mothercat.
The suspect has since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) in Port Harcourt for further investigation.
Survivor’s mother recounts ordeal
Addressing the press during an interview, the mother of the survivor, who requested anonymity due to the stigma associated with the crime, described the harrowing sequence of events that began on 20 September, 2025, shortly after 1 p.m.
The mother had sent her daughter to a bank located at Mothercat Junction to withdraw money from an ATM. The young girl successfully withdrew money at one bank before proceeding to another bank at Ordinance Junction to withdraw more.

“While we were on her search, I called again and she picked with a low voice that she was on her way home,” the mother recalled after becoming worried about the delay.
When her daughter finally arrived, her clothes were soaked with water and blood, and she had visible injuries.
“Her clothe was soaked with water and blood, there were bruises on her face, neck and leg. Her left jaw got swollen and her left eye too. She was so weak.”
Details of the alleged crime
After filing an official police report and taking her daughter for urgent medical treatment, the mother learned the details of the alleged assault.
The survivor explained that while at the bank ATM in Ordinance, a man was standing behind her. After withdrawing her money, she noticed the man did not proceed to use the ATM. When she later got off a public transport vehicle (Keke) in front of a bank at Mothercat, she saw the same man.
According to the mother’s account, the man, now identified as the security guard Godday, began dragging the teenager in front of the bank. Despite her cries, no one came to her aid. He allegedly dragged her into the abandoned bank building he was guarding, locked the gate, and raped her.
“At that process while she was struggling the man held her mouth and started beating her, till she passed out,” the mother stated. The girl eventually woke up hours later, and the man told her to leave.
Upon calculating the cash the girl was sent to withdraw, the mother discovered that N340,000 was missing.
She reported the incident to the commercial bank at Mothercat where her daughter first withdrew money, and their security personnel assisted the police in locating and arresting the suspect.
Calls for justice
The survivor’s mother firmly stated that no amount of money can undo what happened to her daughter, as she called for justice against the suspect.
The incident, however, was confirmed by the Rivers State Police Force spokesperson Grace Iringe-Koko.
Iringe-Koko stated, “Yes I can confirm the incident. The suspect has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) Port Harcourt for further investigation.”
Meanwhile, Dennis Otobo, a member of the Association Against Child Sexual Abuse and Gender-Based Violence in Rivers State, is monitoring the matter.
He urged that the investigation be concluded promptly to ensure the suspect is brought before the court without unnecessary delay.
