A prominent Islamic scholar and cleric , Sheikh Muhydeen Ajani Bello, has died at the age of 84 years.
According to a report, the deceased’s colleague who resides in Ibadan, Sheikh Akewugbagold Taofeek,announced the passing away of the Oyo state-born fiery preacher in a Facebook post today
According to Akewugbagold, Ajani Bello died today,he prayed that God will be pleased with his soul.
His post reads: “Today is one of my saddest day! My father and mentor has returned to his creator. Sultonul Wahizeen of Yorubaland, Sheikh Muhyideen Ajani Bello. May Allah be pleased with your soul. Aljannah fridaos for you. Our heart is full of grief and our eyes full of tears but we will say nothing but what will please our Creator the sole commander of life and death – Allah.”
Meanwhile , the deceased son, Alhaji Basit Olanrewaju Katibi Bello, popularly known as Aponle Anobi, confirmed his father’s demise, in a social media post today.
Aponle Anobi posted crying emojis with a picture of the Sheikh ,but did not provide any other details.
Born in 1940, into the family of Alhaji Bello Ajani and Alhaja Ubaidat Bello of Arolu Compound, Ita Olukoyi, Ibadan. Sheikh Muyideen later become a prominent and highly revered Nigerian Islamic scholar and cleric who made remarkable contributions to Islamic education by setting up schools and institutions.
