The Oluwo of Iwoland has urged Iran’s new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, to pursue peace and embrace dialogue amid rising tensions in the Middle East.
The monarch made the appeal in a statement on Monday while congratulating Khamenei on his emergence as Iran’s new leader at what he described as a critical moment for the region and the global community.
Oluwo said the new leader’s actions could play a decisive role in determining whether the world experiences peace or deeper conflict.
“Your administrative prowess will determine whether the world experiences peace or otherwise,” he said. “The world is groaning in pain. The Middle East is bleeding profusely.”

He said the assassination of Iran’s former Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, had left deep scars but warned that lasting peace would remain impossible without forgiveness.
“The pain caused by the gruesome assassination of the immediate past Supreme Leader of Iran cannot be forgotten in haste. However, there cannot be peace if we refuse to forgive one another,” he said.
The traditional ruler also warned that the economic consequences of the conflict were already affecting ordinary people around the world.
“The global economy is already strained. The struggling classes are finding it harder to feed themselves. The price of fuel has skyrocketed, making life increasingly difficult for ordinary people. The economic pressure is becoming unbearable,” he said.
He appealed to the new Iranian leader to choose reconciliation in order to spare innocent people from further hardship.
“I appeal to you to toe the path of forgiveness to rescue innocent people from avoidable hardship. If the war persists, the low and middle-class population will be devastated by starvation,” he said.
The monarch stressed that dialogue should not be seen as weakness and called on global powers to pursue a ceasefire.
“Embracing dialogue is not cowardice. Those who embrace peace are the true winners. The United States authorities and Israeli leadership should call for a truce,” he said.
He also lamented the destruction of infrastructure built over many years through public resources.
“Infrastructure built over many years with taxpayers’ collective wealth has been destroyed,” he added.
Oluwo expressed optimism that the new Iranian leader could play a historic role in restoring stability.
“If Mojtaba Khamenei says yes to peace today, the world will be more peaceful. I strongly hope that your administration will be remembered for restoring peace, hope and prosperity to the world,” he said.
