President Bola Tinubu has approved automatic employment for the four children of Dr. Grace Adayilo, the late Head of the Civil Service of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), following her recent passing.
The announcement was made by the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, on Saturday during Adayilo’s funeral service held at the National Ecumenical Centre in Abuja. The ceremony was attended by top government officials, civil servants, relatives, and friends who gathered to honour her legacy.
Describing her death as a “painful loss,” Wike praised Dr. Adayilo as a devoted, humble, and hardworking public servant whose significant contributions to the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) would be long remembered.

“On behalf of the FCT Administration and Mr. President, I extend our deepest condolences to her family,” Wike said. “The President has instructed that her four children be offered automatic employment, understanding that the family has lost its breadwinner.”
Wike also commended Adayilo’s exceptional dedication to service, noting her role in ensuring timely payment of workers’ salaries and benefits. He further highlighted her influence as a respected community mobiliser.
Encouraging Nigerians to emulate her commitment, Wike reminded attendees of the unpredictability of life and the importance of serving both God and humanity with dedication.
At the funeral service, Dr. Grace Adayilo was fondly remembered as a selfless leader and motherly figure. Colleagues and loved ones celebrated her inspiring career and unwavering commitment to the welfare of others.
