President Bola Tinubu has extended heartfelt congratulations to Bishop David Oyedepo, founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, as the prominent cleric celebrated his 71st birthday on Friday.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu lauded Bishop Oyedepo’s enduring influence on Nigeria’s spiritual and educational spheres over several decades.
Describing the presiding bishop of Winners Chapel as “a towering figure of influence and impact in Nigeria, Africa and beyond on spiritual, educational and philanthropic platforms,” the President praised Oyedepo’s discipline and dedication since the establishment of his ministry in 1982. He noted that these qualities have driven the global expansion of Living Faith Church Worldwide, alongside substantial contributions to infrastructure, health, and education in various cities and countries.
Highlighting the bishop’s significant investments in education, President Tinubu specifically referenced the Kingdom Heritage Schools, Faith Academy, and the two universities founded by Oyedepo — Covenant University and Landmark University. He stated that these institutions “continue to raise the standard of education, competing favourably with other global institutions.”

“You have built one of Africa’s most impactful Christian ministries from humble beginnings,” the President remarked. “Your steadfastness in the Word of Faith ministry is exemplary, birthing many ministries with resonating impact on key sectors of the economy.”
Furthermore, Tinubu expressed appreciation for Oyedepo’s contributions to nation-building through preaching, teaching, and service. He described the bishop as “a pacesetter and symbol of a servant leader for many to emulate,” emphasising the government’s deep gratitude for his efforts.
Concluding his message, President Tinubu prayed for Bishop Oyedepo’s long life, good health, and continued wisdom to uplift individuals, families, and nations “with the Word of Faith.”
Bishop David Oyedepo, widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s most influential Christian leaders, founded Living Faith Church Worldwide in 1981. The ministry’s headquarters is located at the Faith Tabernacle in Ota, Ogun State.
