Niger State Police Command have confirmed the arrest of seven notorious armed robbers, thuggery for being in possession of dangerous weapons, terrorising Minna, state capital metropolis.
This was contained in a statement issued by the state police spokesman, Wasiu Abiodun and made available to newsmen on Wednesday that the suspects were nabbed by the police following stop and search around western bye-pass.
“On November 17, 2025 at about 9pm, Police surveillance team attached to Tudun-Wada Div, while on stop and search around Western Bye-Pass intercepted two suspects on a motorcycle”.

Abiodun named the arrested suspects’ names as Habibu Isyaku 20, and Musa Yakubu 18yrs, both of Texaco area of Maitumbi, Minna.
“The suspects were subjected to on-the-spot search, and a locally made gun was recovered. During interrogation, they couldn’t give a satisfactory account of themselves and were suspected to be robbing members of the public along the Bye-Pass”, his statement reads.
He further noted that further investigation is still ongoing as the suspects will soon be transferred to SCID Minna.
In another development, police attached to the central police division in Minna carried out an operation in black spots of Sayaka under Tudun-Natsira of Abdulsalam quarter, arresting the suspects.
“Earlier on November 14 2025, Police operatives attached to Central Police Div, Minna carried out a sting operation in some identified black spots around Sayako, Tudun-Natsira, Abdul Salam Qtrs, and Baida, and five suspects were arrested”.
Abdullahi Sani 27yrs, arrested with suspected cannabis and a dealer in illicit substances, Mohammed Inuwa 21yrs, arrested with a sharp knife and suspected cannabis, Abbas Yahaya a.k.a Papalo 25yrs of Sayako, arrested with a long saw blade, Abdulrahman Ismail 29yrs of Abdul Salam Qtrs and Mohammed Abubakar 28yrs arrested with illicit substances.
He added that all suspects arrested were charged to court for criminal conspiracy, thuggery and being in possession of dangerous weapons and illicit substances.
Three Suspects Net For Receiving Stolen Cattle
On November, 13, 2025, men of Niger State Police received complaints of cattle rustling and cows’ theft by suspected persons under Magama area of the state.
“Acting on a criminal complaint received on November 13 2025, Police operatives of the SCID Minna were detailed to investigate the complaint bordering on cattle rustling and theft of cows by suspected persons in Ibeto area of Magama LGA who rustled some cattle of a victim in the area”.
“Investigation led to the recovery of some of the cows in Lagos, and another recovery of 8 cows on November 17, 2025 in Oyo State and the arrest of three suspects”, Wasiu’s statement reads.
The arrested suspects are: Naziru Mustapha 25yrs of Ogbomosho, Oyo State, Husseini Abubakar 30yrs of Mariga, residing in Ogbomosho, Oyo state and Kabiru Magaji 40yrsof Mariga, residing in Ogbomosho, Oyo state.

“Naziru and Husseini are alleged receivers of the rustled cattle, in whose possession eight cows were found and verified by the owners, while Kabiru is in custody for screening of two other suspects; Bashar Sani and Ibrahim Tasiu, both indigenes of Mariga, residing in Ogbomosho area of Oyo state who are currently at large. Efforts are ongoing to ensure they are arrested”.
He said that Investigation is still in progress to identify other receivers and recover other rustled cattle.
