Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has lauded the Federal Government’s Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Clinics initiative.
He described it as a crucial effort to connect economic growth with grassroots development.
Speaking at the 7th Expanded National MSME Clinics held in Akure, Oyebanji said the programme demonstrates a deep understanding of the vital role small businesses play in job creation, poverty reduction, and industrialisation.

He stated that the initiative is the first time a government has made a deliberate attempt to align macroeconomic growth with the development of the people.
Oyebanji expressed his appreciation to the Office of the Vice President for maintaining the initiative, which he believes has had a significant and positive effect on the states that have hosted it.
He added that his administration is committed to fostering a business-friendly environment and supporting MSMEs to unlock their full potential and empower local entrepreneurs.
Vice President Kashim Shettima, who also spoke at the event, explained that the initiative is part of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, designed to empower Nigeria’s small business sector.
He highlighted that the Federal Government (FG) is deliberately investing in MSMEs due to their capacity to create jobs, reduce poverty, and significantly contribute to the nation’s GDP.
The clinics, he noted, are intended to bring government agencies closer to the people to eliminate bureaucracy and provide entrepreneurs with real-time support.
Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, also commended the program as a timely intervention that aligns with his state’s own efforts to promote entrepreneurship.
