He specifically tasked the command with increasing its engagement with commercial drivers, motorcyclists, and tricycle operators through regular training and interface sessions.
The governor emphasised that many road accidents, particularly those involving motorcycle operators, are avoidable and can be reduced through consistent safety education.
“I am happy the accident rate in the state is going down and traffic has been free in town,” the governor said, commending the FRSC’s professionalism.
He acknowledged the corps’ request for more vehicles and ambulance services to support its expanding operations and pledged to find a solution to these challenges, stating, “We are partners in progress, whatever support we can give to your agency, we will do that.”
Oyebanji also highlighted the need for the FRSC to document all motorcyclist operators in the state as a measure to curb criminal activities.
He commended the agency for its advisory role on road signage and noted that the state government would continue to support its initiatives.
Earlier, Corps Commander Adeoye praised Oyebanji’s significant investments in road infrastructure across the state, crediting these projects with the noticeable decline in road accidents.
