Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has commended the leadership of organised labour in the state for fostering a harmonious working relationship, which he said has been instrumental in the state’s economic growth over the past 35 months.
Speaking yesterday in Ado-Ekiti during a meeting with leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the newly inaugurated executive members of its Women’s Wing, Oyebanji attributed his administration’s achievements to the sustained industrial peace.
He noted that the unions’ understanding and cooperation have created a conducive environment for implementing people-oriented policies.

“Without peace, the administration’s stride would not have been possible,” Oyebanji stated.
“The state has been peaceful, one of the safest in the country, and this has not only boosted the government’s development drive but also positioned Ekiti as a preferred destination for investors.”
The governor emphasised that no investor would commit resources to a volatile environment.
He also attributed the unions’ support to his administration’s transparency and accountability, assuring them that he does not take their cooperation for granted.
He congratulated Bade Gboyega, the newly inaugurated Chairperson of the NLC Women’s Wing, and her team, pledging his government’s support for their new roles.
Oyebanji also expressed optimism about the future, stating that President Bola Tinubu’s reforms are beginning to yield positive results that will soon translate into improved welfare and greater opportunities for the people of Ekiti and Nigeria as a whole.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the state NLC, Comrade Kolapo Olatunde, expressed the workforce’s satisfaction with the governor’s leadership style.
He assured the governor of the workers’ continued loyalty and support, both in service and at the polls.
Similarly, the new Chairperson of the NLC Women’s Wing, Bade Gboyega, praised the governor for creating an inclusive environment where women can contribute to governance.

She assured him of the women’s wing’s full support and commitment to mobilising votes for him in the upcoming election.
Also in attendance were senior government officials, including the Head of Service, Folakemi Olomojobi, and Chief of Staff, Niyi Adebayo, among others.
