Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has reaffirmed his commitment to promoting fairness and equity among all religious groups while fostering cultural heritage and development in the state.
The governor made this pledge while hosting the leadership of the Traditional Religious Worshipers Association of Osun State (TWARSO) during a courtesy visit to his office.
Describing the visit as a ‘remarkable milestone’ in strengthening understanding, respect, and collaboration between the government and traditional institutions, he emphasised the crucial role of traditional worshipers in shaping Yoruba identity and societal values.
“It is my utmost pleasure to restate that I will continually uphold fairness and equity among all religious groups in the state to promote peaceful coexistence, tranquillity, and harmony,” Governor Adeleke assured.

He highlighted key initiatives under his administration aimed at fostering religious inclusivity, including the declaration of a public holiday for the annual Isese Day and the mandatory inclusion of traditional worshipers in opening and closing prayers at all state functions.
He called on traditional worshipers to continue championing values of tolerance, respect, and peaceful coexistence.

“Let us work together to build a brighter future for our children and generations to come,” he urged.
In his remarks, TWARSO President, Oluseyi Atanda, praised Governor Adeleke for fostering unity and development across the state.
He described traditional religious worshipers as integral to the state’s cultural identity, highlighting their deep roots across all local government areas.
Atanda recounted that in January 2018, their annual Ifa divination foretold the rise of an underrated leader who would bring unexpected progress to Osun State.
“Ifa Olokun told us that a man generally underrated would spring surprises and bring positive development beyond expectations. Today, we thank Ifa for not shaming us because, in just two years, you have transformed Osun State, earning admiration even from your political opponents,” he stated.
