Ahead of Saturday’s governorship election in Ondo State, Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji has urged Ekiti indigenes residing in Ondo State to support Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate.
Speaking at a solidarity rally held in Akure on Tuesday, Governor Oyebanji expressed confidence in Ayedatiwa’s ability to secure a landslide victory across all 18 local government areas of the state.
He commended Ekiti indigenes in Ondo State for uniting behind Ayedatiwa, describing their endorsement as a testament to their commitment to progressive governance.
Governor Oyebanji, accompanied by key government officials, including the Deputy Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Bolaji Olagbaju, and Special Adviser on Political Matters, Chief Jide Awe, emphasised the importance of collective efforts in ensuring Ayedatiwa’s success.
Governor Oyebanji highlighted Ayedatiwa’s developmental strides since assuming office, asserting that the governor has been relentless in driving remarkable progress across Ondo State.
He urged voters to re-elect Ayedatiwa, emphasizing that such a victory would reaffirm the influence and leadership of President Bola Tinubu in the southwest.
Oyebanji praised Ekiti indigenes for their active participation in the electoral process, particularly in obtaining voter cards, which he described as vital tools for victory.
He also commended APC aspirants in Ondo State for their unity and commitment to the party’s success, urging them to remain steadfast in their support for Ayedatiwa.
“The election is an opportunity to demonstrate our collective love for President Tinubu and former Governor Rotimi Akeredolu. Winning convincingly is not just essential; it is our duty to keep Ondo State within the progressive fold,” Oyebanji stated.
Chief Jide Awe, Special Adviser to Governor Oyebanji, lauded the governor’s efforts in establishing a platform for regular engagement with Ekiti indigenes in Ondo State.
He urged them to actively participate in governance to benefit from the dividends of democracy.
Similarly, APC Chairman in Ondo State, Ade Adetimehin, praised Oyebanji for his leadership, reiterating the historical bond between Ekiti and Ondo States.
Delivering Ayedatiwa’s message of gratitude, Adetimehin assured Ekiti indigenes of reciprocal support during Ekiti’s next governorship election.
The rally underscored the APC’s commitment to consolidating its hold on Ondo State and advancing the legacy of progressive governance under Ayedatiwa’s leadership.
