Ondo gov declares 3 days of mourning for late SSG  

Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has declared three days of mourning and prayers, from today, January 5, to Tuesday, January 7, in honour of the late Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Temitayo Oluwatuyi.  

The New Daily Prime earlier reported that Oluwatuyi passed away on Saturday while receiving treatment in the hospital after a car accident.  

Governor Aiyedatiwa described the late Oluwatuyi as a remarkable public servant who lived a fulfilled life and positively impacted many lives . 

The governor made these remarks today during a condolence visit to Oluwatuyi’s wife and family members in Akure, alongside members of the State Executive Council.

The governor highlighted Oluwatuyi’s enduring influence on Ondo State politics and governance, stating that the state’s history would be incomplete without acknowledging his contributions.  

In a show of compassion, Governor Aiyedatiwa also connected via video call with the deceased’s children, who are based abroad.  

The governor praised Oluwatuyi as a complete gentleman who conducted both his public and private life with humility and grace.

He prayed for the repose of his soul and assured the family of the government’s unwavering support during this challenging time.  

In the condolence register, the governor wrote: “Hon. Tayo Oluwatuyi, you came, you lived, you fulfilled your God-given tasks, and you touched lives. Though you left us unexpectedly, God has called you home. May you rest in the bosom of your Creator. Amen.” 

Ayoade Babalola, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Infrastructure, led a special prayer session for Oluwatuyi’s family, the Akure community, and Ondo State at large.
