The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has charged Nigerian students to uphold integrity in all aspects of their lives, emphasising that it is a crucial foundation for the country’s development.
Olukoyede gave this charge at a re-sensitization and reorientation program for members of the Integrity Club at Anglican Girls Grammar School, Apo, Abuja.
Represented by the Head of EFCC Radio, Deputy Commander of the EFCC (DCE) Nwanyinma Okeanu, he highlighted the significance of the Integrity Club in schools, stressing that students are the future of Nigeria, and their choices today will shape the nation’s future.
“If Nigeria is going to be better tomorrow, we must start today by doing what is right and following the path of integrity,” he stated.
Okeanu further noted that the EFCC Chairman is committed to nurturing the younger generation, recognizing their role in Nigeria’s progress.
“We have people from all parts of the country here today. If Nigeria is to be better, you will make it good with integrity.

“That is why the EFCC is keen on mentoring young people. With integrity, you can achieve anything. You will not embezzle what is placed in your care, and the sky will be your stepping stone,” she added.
Addressing the students on the dangers of sextortion, Assistant Superintendent of the EFCC (ASE1) Eniola Kayode warned them against exposing personal information and explicit content online.
She cautioned that cybercriminals could use such materials for blackmail, leading to devastating consequences such as depression, anxiety, and even suicidal thoughts.
“You have to be very careful about the people you meet online. There is no need to have explicit content of yourself on your phone. Hackers and scammers can manipulate you into clicking dangerous links, which may lead to blackmail. Protect yourselves and uphold moral integrity,” she advised.
Kayode further urged students who find themselves in such situations to seek help from trusted adults and law enforcement agencies.
She also emphasised the importance of preserving evidence by not deleting conversations with blackmailers.
Speaking on patriotism and honesty, Assistant Commander of the EFCC (ACE II) Aisha Mohammed urged students to remain truthful, even in difficult situations.
“Your conscience should be your guide. If you do what is right, your family and community will be proud of you. Cybercriminals are damaging our nation’s reputation, and we need future leaders like you to stand against corruption.
“Spread this message and become foot soldiers in the fight against corruption—Nigeria is counting on you,” she said.
The Principal of the college, Nkiruka Nwofor, expressed her appreciation for the EFCC’s efforts in mentoring young minds and welcomed further collaboration to expand the anti-corruption campaign.
In her remarks, the President of the school’s Integrity Club, Chidinma Okeanu, thanked the EFCC for the enlightening session, noting that the lessons learned would have a lasting impact on the students.
