The Ogun State Police Command has expressed concerns over a significant surge in reports of missing persons across the state. According to Omolola Odutola, the command’s spokesperson, the rise in missing persons cases is unprecedented, affecting individuals across all age groups.

Odutola revealed that only a small fraction of missing persons have been found, while many others remain unaccounted for. This disturbing trend has prompted the police to urge residents to be more vigilant and security-conscious, prioritizing their safety above all else.

As a proactive measure, the Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, has outlined essential guidelines to keep residents informed and safe. Parents are advised not to allow their children to use commercial transportation services with strangers. Additionally, restless youth are encouraged to activate digital communication and sharing features on their mobile devices, especially when traveling or in moments of distress.

To facilitate prompt assistance, the police have provided contact numbers for the public. Residents can reach the police control room at 09164859299 and the Police Public Relations Department at 09159578888.

The Ogun State Police Command has also taken steps to provide residents with direct access to key law enforcement officials. Recently, the command released an updated list of telephone numbers for Police Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers.

As the police continue to work towards resolving the missing persons cases, residents are urged to remain cautious and report any suspicious activities to the authorities promptly.

By working together, the community can help prevent further incidents and ensure the safe return of missing individuals.
