The champion narrowly escaped death on Monday, in a crash that claimed the lives of two individuals.

Joshua and three others were reportedly traveling from Lagos to Sagamu when their Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) rammed into a stationary truck parked along the busy highway.
Preliminary reports from the state government confirmed that two male foreign nationals died instantly at the scene.
Their remains have been deposited at the Livewell Morgue in Sagamu.
Joshua and the driver of the vehicle were rescued by security personnel attached to the boxer’s convoy.
They were immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where they are currently receiving medical attention for injuries sustained in the collision.
In a statement e-signed by Kayode Akinmade, Special Adviser to the Governor on Information and Strategy, the state described the accident as “deeply unfortunate and painful.”
The government said the severely damaged SUV had been evacuated to the Sagamu Motor Traffic Division (MTD) office.
It added that efforts were ongoing to tow the truck involved to the same location to enable a comprehensive forensic investigation into the cause of the crash.
The state also urged motorists to exercise extreme caution during the festive season, noting the heavy vehicular traffic typically experienced in late December.

“Our hearts go out to the bereaved families who lost their loved ones in this tragic incident, which the State considers a devastating loss,” the statement read.
“As we mourn collectively, we pray for the repose of the souls of the departed and for the speedy recovery of the injured.”
Following the crash, the state government has directed road safety officers and security agencies to intensify surveillance and enforcement of traffic regulations across the state to prevent further loss of life during the holidays.
Joshua was in Nigeria on a holiday visit following his recent knockout victory over Jake Paul in Miami on December 19.
