Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has taken a bold step toward infrastructure development across the state to enhance agricultural production.
Abiodun assured the equal distribution of developmental projects, as outlined in the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) of the 2025-2027 budget.
He emphasised that these projects aim to enhance agricultural production.
During a town hall meeting in Ijebu-Ode, Governor Abiodun stated that several projects have been distributed across the three Senatorial Districts, including approved road reconstruction projects in Ogun East.
Among the roads approved for reconstruction are the Imoro-Imegun-Opopo road and other major routes.
While emphasising the state government’s commitment to driving development in rural areas, the governor announced the construction of 64 km of rural roads across the state to improve agricultural accessibility and production.
Additionally, the governor acknowledged the completion of over 600 km of roads statewide, with 243.3 kilometres completed in Ogun East.
Highlighting security achievements, Governor Abiodun also discussed recent developments along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
Regarding the construction of the Gateway International Agro-Cargo Airport, he mentioned that the project would position Ogun State as a major logistics hub in the region.
Traditional rulers and other stakeholders expressed gratitude to the governor for initiating the town hall discussion, aimed at strengthening public participation in government affairs.
The participants urged further collaboration with the state government.
