The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced that its online portal will be open for prospective corps members to register for mobilisation from March 12 to March 18, 2026.
The announcement was made through a flyer circulated across the agency’s social media platforms on Friday. The notice outlined eligibility requirements for graduates intending to participate in the scheme.
“Attention, Prospective Corps Members (PCMs), I am happy to inform you that the NYSC portal will be opened for online registration from 12th to 18th March, 2026,” the flyer stated.
Only graduates whose names appear on the approved Senate or Academic Board lists uploaded by their institutions are eligible to register. The agency emphasised that applicants must ensure that their details are consistent across all official documents.
“PCMs who have Senate/Academic Board approved results and whose details have been uploaded on the NYSC portal by their respective institutions are eligible,” the notice read.
The scheme urged prospective corps members to visit its official website and social media pages for detailed registration guidelines. Graduates were also advised to verify their personal information carefully before beginning the registration process.
In particular, the NYSC stressed the importance of ensuring that the name on the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) record matches the name on both the Senate list and the NYSC portal. Similarly, names on certificates or statements of result must be accurate and correspond with official records. Applicants were directed to confirm their details via the Senate list verification portal before completing their online registration.
This announcement coincides with broader reforms in Nigeria’s education sector aimed at strengthening the integrity of academic records. Earlier reports highlighted that the Minister of Education, Maruf Tunji Alausa, had announced stricter measures to curb certificate fraud. Alausa warned that graduates without proper documentation would be ineligible for NYSC mobilisation.
The minister stated that the Federal Government is intensifying institutional compliance and academic records management as part of its ongoing efforts to protect the credibility of Nigeria’s education system. These reforms are supported by initiatives such as the Nigeria Education Repository and Data Bank, which aim to enhance transparency and ensure that only qualified graduates participate in national service.
Prospective corps members are therefore advised to adhere strictly to the registration timeline and verify all personal information to avoid delays or disqualification.
