“Professor Amupitan’s track record, as an accomplished legal scholar and practitioner, university administrator and illustrious academic, shows that he has the capacity for the job, especially as he is coming on board at a time Nigerians are getting set for crucial elections,” the Forum stated.
They further assured the President and the nation of Amupitan’s readiness to deliver credible, free, and fair elections, adding that his selection is a “round peg in a round hole.”
The Forum called on Nigerians and stakeholders in the electoral process to rally behind the new INEC chairman and provide the necessary support for him to succeed in his critical national role.
This appointment comes at a pivotal time for Nigeria’s electoral landscape, and Professor Amupitan’s leadership will be closely watched as the country gears up for major elections in the coming years.
