Operatives of Niger State Police Command have announced the arrest of 46-years old Emekomah Prosper and 38-years old Alhassan Abubakar over adulterated PMS and peddlers in Suleja town.
The police spokesman, Wasiu Abiodun in a statement on Tuesday said the suspects were arrested after a complaint received on November 18, 2025.
The statement reads, “Following a direct complaint received at Maje Div on November 18, 2025 by some PMS dealers on illegal dealings in substandard and adulterated fuel by some fraudulent individuals, the Div swung into action and two suspects were arrested in Suleja on November 19, 2025. The suspects are named; Emekomah Prosper 46yrs of Kaduna road, Suleja and Alhassan Abubakar 38yrs of Second gate area, Suleja.”

“During interrogation, Prosper confessed to dealing in large scale purchase and sale of a product called “naphtha” a form of liquid petroleum. He admitted to buying the chemical product from certain foreign companies in Owerri, Warri and Ore at the rate of #820, #700 naira per litre and just recently from Omotosho Ore at the rate of #720 naira per litre sold to him by one Ismaila Audu Dodga, his business associates of over 2yrs”, he added.
Abiodun further noted that the suspects confessed to supplying the product to some vendors at a depot in Maje and Kaduna road at the rate of #870 naira per litre.
According to him, the buyers purchased this chemical, mix it with little volume of fuel and then proceed to sell it as Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to unsuspecting car owners/drivers.
“The second suspect, Abubakar also admitted to being one of the buyers of the product adding that he buys from prosper at the rate of #870 naira per litre of which he bought 45,000 liters at the rate of thirty-nine million, one hundred and fifty thousand naira (#39,150,000.) and then mixed it with a little fuel before distributing to various retail points regardless of its detrimental effects to car engines”, his statement reads.
He further stated the suspects are currently in custody undergoing further interrogation with a view to apprehend other adulterated PMS dealers and retailers.
23 thuggery suspects arrested in Minna
In another development, Abiodun announced the arrest of 23 thuggery suspects who were armed with dangerous weapons within the city of Minna metropolis.
Wasiu noted that the police boosted locations such as Abdulsalam quarters, Angwan-Kaje, Maitumbi, Sabon-titi Tunga and its environ to arrest these suspected thugs.
“On November 29, 2025 at about 8pm, information received indicated that some miscreants from Sabon-titi Tunga engaged in a public fight, Police operatives attached to Tudun-Wada Div mobilized to the scene and they were dispersed.
“Furthermore, the following day on November 30, 2025 at about 1am, the miscreants regrouped, engaged in another fight and the Police patrol teams responded with the arrest of thirteen of them”, Wasiu added.
The arrested suspects are; Ibrahim Yusuf 19yrs, Abbah Hussaini 20yrs, Babangida Gambo 34yrs, Abubakar Bala 19yrs, Haruna Mohammed 21yrs, Abubakar Usman 18yrs, Ismaila Yahaya 20yrs, Nasiru Idris 17yrs, Kamal Abbas 16yrs, Yunusa Abubakar 19yrs, Adamu Garba 13yrs, Hashiru Ahmed 17yrs and Suleiman Mohammed 14yrs.
He further noted that the suspects were arrested with knives, cutlasses and other dangerous weapons during the parade.
“Similarly, on the same date at about 8.30am, report was received that one Bello Mohammed about 21yrs of Farm center Tunga was found dead at Sabon-titi and he was identified to be among the miscreants causing unrest in the community, suspected to have been attacked during the miscreants clash over night”.
He added that the corpse was removed to the hospital and investigation is ongoing.
“The operatives of the Div also arrested one Abdullahi Shuaibu and Abdulwaris Ya’u in a tricycle on November 28, 2025 at about 10pm, along Western Bye-Pass with a sharp knife used in robbing unsuspecting passengers”.
Earlier on November 27, 2025, Police operatives attached to ‘B’ Div Minna carried out a raid operation around Abdulsalam quarters and three suspects were arrested with military camouflage and a sharp knife.
The suspects are: Sammani Shafiu 22yrs, Mubarak Ismail 22yrs and Tasiu Mohammed Adams 21yrs.
“The Police operatives attached to Central Police Station equally responded to a distress call at Mobil area on November 12, 2025 and found some thugs fighting, while one Chidi Johnson 25yrs of Chanchaga was arrested.
“In the course of investigation, he led Police operatives to the arrest of Mohammed Sani 18yrs, Shariff Sani 19yrs a.k.a Awashe, Suleiman Mustapha 17yrs and Sadiq Mohammed 17yrs All were arrested at Alagbado area of Minna with a sword, knives and other weapons”, he added.
