The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a 38-year-old man, Mohammed Sani, popularly known as Gamboli, for allegedly supplying illicit drugs to bandits operating in Niger State.
In a statement on Sunday, the NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, described Sani as a major drug supplier to criminal groups in Shiroro Local Government Area of the state.

Babafemi said operatives recovered 471.8 kilograms of skunk, a strain of cannabis, during a raid on Sani’s residence at Anguwan Makera, Kuta, on November 20. The suspect reportedly escaped during the operation and went into hiding.
“Though he evaded arrest during the raid, sustained intelligence-led efforts paid off on Thursday, December 11, when NDLEA operatives traced and arrested him at one of his drug joints in Anguwan Fadama, Kuta,” Babafemi said.
In a related operation, NDLEA operatives uncovered an illegal codeine syrup manufacturing factory at Amapu Igbengwo village, Umuakpara, in Osisioma Local Government Area of Abia State.
A total of 9,015 bottles of codeine syrup, weighing 1,152.2 kilograms, were recovered at the site.
In Enugu State, the agency arrested Ossai Emeka, 45, on Thursday, December 11, along the Onitsha–Enugu Ezike Road with 7.2 kilograms of skunk.
Another suspect, Enoje Agada, 40, was apprehended along the Enugu Ezike–Ette Road with 94.6 kilograms of the same substance.
Also on December 11, NDLEA operatives raided a notorious drug joint known as “Beere the California” in Ido, Oyo State, where they seized 3.4 kilograms of skunk, 1.6 kilograms of Colorado, a synthetic cannabis, and 400 grams of methamphetamine.
The alleged owner of the joint, identified as Idowu the Killer, is currently at large, while a suspect, Ajibade Faruk, was arrested at the scene.
A separate operation at Idi Oro, Elekuro area of Ibadan on Friday, December 12, led to the arrest of Olusanya Abosede, 35, and the seizure of 238.4 kilograms of skunk.
