Edelduok attributed the achievement to a series of strategic reforms and a firm commitment to increasing revenue, facilitating legitimate trade, and combating smuggling.
“The first half of 2025 was active and productive, driven by a firm commitment to increasing revenue, supporting legitimate trade, and tackling smuggling in all its forms,” she stated.
In addition to the revenue milestone, the command has stepped up its anti-smuggling operations.
The CAC reported the seizure of two 40-foot containers filled with expired pharmaceuticals.
The seized items, with a Duty Paid Value of ₦130 million, were found to be in contravention of the Nigeria Customs Service Act 2023 and other import laws.
Edelduok underscored the command’s dedication to enforcing the law to protect public health.
She emphasised the importance of transparency, accountability, and professionalism in all operations and affirmed the command’s commitment to constructive engagement with stakeholders and inter-agency cooperation.
The seized illegal pharmaceuticals were handed over to Commander Ashiru Abdullahi, a representative of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), who praised the collaborative synergy between the two agencies.
