The Kwara State Ministry of Finance has clarified why some government workers have yet to receive their November salary and bonus.
In a statement released on Monday, the Commissioner for Finance, Hauwa Nuru, explained that payments are linked to workers’ compliance with the Kwara State Resident Registration Agency (KWSRRA) registration directive.
Nuru revealed that many state government workers have already received their salaries, with others still being credited.
Nuru added that workers who have not completed their KWSRRA registration remain unpaid.

The Commissioner said the registration process was mandated more than six months ago, and the government had earlier announced on November 11 that payments would only be disbursed to those who complied.
“The state government has since started disbursing the salary for any workers have received across MDAs. The bonus will follow shortly after like before,” Nuru stated.

She explained that the current payroll process is being conducted in batches to incorporate updated data and biometric details of each worker, marking the first implementation of the KWSRRA-based payroll system.
“The initiative is designed to enhance data-driven planning, strengthen payroll integrity, improve public accountability, and promote public safety. State employees who have not received their salaries were advised to visit the nearest KWSRRA office to address any pending issues.
“The directive requiring all state employees, including those in the 16 local government areas, to register with the KWSRRA is a strategic step toward improving accountability and service delivery. This registration has been open for over six months, allowing sufficient time for compliance,” she said.
She added that local government workers and teachers under the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) are reportedly being paid following KWSRRA clearance, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to prompt salary payments.
“The AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led administration remains dedicated to upholding its reputation for timely salary disbursements, ensuring a streamlined process to foster efficiency and public trust.”
