The Deputy Speaker of the Kebbi House of Assembly, Muhammed Bagudo, has been abducted by unidentified gunmen in his hometown of Bagudo on Friday night.
The lawmaker had gone to mosque to observe the Isahi prayer in the evening when he was taken away by the gun men.
Kebbi Police spokesperson, CSP Nafiu Abubakar, confirmed the incident in a statement.

Abubakar added that CP. Bello.M. Sani had instituted a search and rescue team comprising the police, army and vigilantes to search for the lawmaker.
The state police chief urged members of the public to remain calm and law abiding as the police is on top of the situation and assured the people of the state their unwavering commitment to safeguarding the lives and properties of the people of the state.
