Isaac Fayose, younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, has strongly criticised the current Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, over the deplorable state of roads in the state—particularly the one leading to his hometown, Afao-Ekiti.
In a video posted on his verified Facebook account on Tuesday, 30 September 2025, Fayose expressed frustration at the condition of the road, describing it as “shameful” and “dangerous”, despite being only a few kilometres from the state capital, Ado Ekiti.
The video, which has since gone viral, was captioned:
“See road to my village just 5 kilometers from Ado Ekiti capital. And my brother is busy shouting BAO for second term. I suffer on Ekiti roads today, all my body is paining me. Gov Oyebanji is a scam!!! Nah push wey dey push our convoy.”
In the footage, Fayose is seen lamenting as his convoy struggles through a rough patch of road. He remarked that the road to Afao-Ekiti looks like a “well,” criticising the administration for failing to provide basic infrastructure in rural areas.
“Can we see the road to Afao-Ekiti? It looks like a well. This is very bad. We have been seeing bad roads on all our drive today. Just a two-hour drive to Ado,” he said.
He further urged his elder brother, Ayodele Fayose, to withdraw support for Governor Oyebanji’s second-term bid until tangible development is delivered, especially in road infrastructure.
“Former governor Fayose, stop supporting BAO. Tell him to fix the roads,” he added, referencing Oyebanji’s popular nickname, BAO.
The outburst has sparked reactions across social media, with some users supporting Fayose’s position while others accused him of politicising the issue.
As of the time of filing this report, the Ekiti State Government is yet to respond to the video or address the specific concerns raised.
