The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has established a dedicated Election Project Plan Committee (EPPC) to coordinate the strategic framework for the 2027 general elections.
The committee held its inaugural meeting this week in Abuja, marking the beginning of its mandate to design a structured and efficient electoral roadmap.
Chaired by Prof Rhoda H. Gumus, the committee is responsible for outlining a clear work plan, forming sub-committees, creating an Elections Project Plan (EPP) Template, and setting deadlines for submission of key planning documents.

Key INEC National Commissioners serving on the committee include: Kenneth Ukeagu as Chair, Tenders Board, Baba Bila as Chair, EOLC—Sam Olumekunas Chair, EPMC and Abdullahi Abdu Zuru as Chair, BEI
During the meeting, Gumus stressed the need for meticulous planning to enhance the credibility and efficiency of Nigeria’s electoral system.
She encouraged committee members to approach their responsibilities with diligence, ensuring that the electoral process remains transparent and well-structured.
