How I saved Pastor Tunde Bakare’s marriage from generational curses – Daughter

The first daughter of Pastor Tunde Bakare, Serving Overseer of Citadel Global Community, Olubunmi Fabode has disclosed that her parent’s marriage was a battlefield for generational curses.

She, however, disclosed that her prayers prevented them from getting a divorce.

She spoke at the 40th wedding anniversary of her parents in Lagos over the weekend.

Fabode also disclosed that her love for her siblings inspired her to pray for her parent’s marriage.

She said: “When I was seven years old, my father came to the room and told me ‘Your mother and I are going our separate ways. I am telling you this so you can decide who you want to live with’.

“I did not bother so much about my mum and dad not living together, but I thought if they were separated, my siblings may choose either of our parents.

“And I knew that could not work because I absolutely love my siblings. They are the joy of my life. I knew that something had to give to interrupt that plan that was about to hatch.

“She was raised by a British foster parent, then her grandmother, and was eventually raised by her father and stepmother.
“Their marriage was not just a union, it was a battlefield. A place where generational curses were challenged and fought to the ground.”

Bakare is a famous advocate for better governance in Nigeria.

The outstanding lawyer who recently turned 70 was described as an advocate of change in Nigeria.

Tinubu had said Bakare was pivotal in charging civil demonstrations during important l periods in Nigeria’s history.

More so, former President Muhammadu Buhari described Pastor Bakare as a mobilizer and a valuable asset to Nigeria.
He went on to describe Dr. Bakare as a living legend who gave up a lucrative law practice to work as a pastor, an imposing figure in nation building, and a personification of intellect, integrity, confidence
