A 19-year-old teacher, Abdullahi Abbass has bagged life imprisonment for raping a nine-year-old male minor after Federal Capital Territory High Court presided by Justice M. Osho-Adebiyi in Abuja found him guilty.
Following the judgement, the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons celebrated his imprisonment as a successful win its fight against sexual violence.
In a statement posted on X on Saturday, the agency’s National Press Officer, Vincent Adekoye, announced the judgement.
Detail revealed that the convict, who worked as private school teacher raped the minor through his anus on March 19, 2025 after school hours.

The agency said, “After school hours, he sent another pupil to call the victim from their home. He thereafter took the victim down the street where he lived and raped the male victim through the anus.”
The agency said the victim told his mother about the incident, leading to the suspect’s arrest and trial.
Abbass was charged with rape and sexual abuse and convicted on October 29, 2025, under Section 2 of the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Act, 2015, which carries a life sentence.
NAPTIP Director-General, Binta Adamu Bello, applauded the judiciary and partners for ensuring the conviction.
“I wish to say that the speedy investigation and arraignment of the Convict is a testimony to our renewed commitment and determination to tackle the incidence of domestic violence, rape, and other forms of sexual abuse in the Country.
Bello also commended the Nigerian Police for its support and reiterated the agency’s resolve to combat rape and other sexual offences nationwide.
