Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has provided the Medium Security Custodial Centre (MSCC) in Gusau with some essential materials to improve the lives of inmates.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of the Zamfara State Command, Mustapha Abubakar, stated that the items were distributed on Monday, October 21.
Representing the state governor, Sheik Maikwano, Chief Imam of Sahaba Juma’at Mosque, distributed the relief items to the MSCC.
While presenting the materials to the correctional centre, Maikwano stated that the donation aims to bring comfort to the inmates while they serve their jail terms.
Reacting to the gesture, Ibrahim Shehu, Controller of Corrections in the state command, thanked Governor Lawal for the donation.
The commission reaffirmed the governor’s commitment to improving the welfare of both residents and those in custody.
The document also highlighted other achievements of Governor Lawal’s administration, including significant progress in sectors such as education, healthcare, security, and the payment of gratuities to retirees.
