Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has announced a reward of N5 million and a bungalow for Kayode Adewale, a Mathematics teacher was shortlisted among the top 50 teachers globally in the prestigious Global Teacher Prize.
The Global Teacher Prize is a US $1 million award presented to an exceptional teacher who has made an outstanding contribution to their profession.
Adewale employs innovative teaching methods and integrates the local language to teach Mathematics at Imagbon/Imaka Comprehensive High School, Imagbon, in the state.

Announcing this on his X page, the governor stated that the teacher’s dedication to education and commitment to transforming lives in the state deserve recognition and celebration.

He wrote: “We are proud to celebrate Kayode Adewale, a mathematics teacher at Imagbon/Imaka Comprehensive High School, who has been recognized among the Top 50 teachers globally in the prestigious Global Teacher Prize.
“An alumnus of Tai Solarin University of Education, Kayode’s innovative teaching and dedication to education have earned him both local and international acclaim.

“In recognition of his achievements, we are honouring him as the Ogun State Education Ambassador, awarding him a bungalow in any location of his choice within the state, and supporting him with a cash prize of ₦5,000,000.
“Kayode’s success reflects years of hard work, focus, and humility, making him a role model for educators in Ogun State and beyond. We celebrate his remarkable contributions to education and his commitment to transforming lives.”
