Fulham is on the verge of permanently signing Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze from AC Milan as the London club will pay a fee of up to €28m.
Chukwueze has enjoyed a remarkable turnaround at Craven Cottage. He joined on loan last summer and quickly rediscovered his best form. Previously, he shone brightly at Villarreal. However, he struggled during two disappointing seasons at the San Siro. Now, the 26-year-old Nigerian international thrives again. His explosive pace, sharp dribbling, and clever cuts inside from the right wing impress fans and teammates alike.

First, Chukwueze started his career at Villarreal B. In 2018, he made 20 appearances and scored 4 goals in the lower divisions. Then, he moved up to the senior team. Over five seasons from 2018 to 2023, he played 207 matches across all competitions. He netted 37 goals and added 29 assists. In La Liga specifically, he recorded 155 appearances with 21 goals and 14 assists.
Moreover, he delivered standout performances in 2022/23, contributing 13 goals and 10 assists in 54 games. Additionally, Chukwueze played a key role in Villarreal’s 2020/21 Europa League victory. He scored important goals and created chances throughout the campaign. As a result, scouts across Europe admired his direct style and high work rate.
However, life changed when AC Milan signed him in 2023 for around €21m. Chukwueze arrived with high expectations. Yet, he faced limited starts and tough adaptation. Across 70 appearances in all competitions, he managed only 8 goals and 6 assists. In Serie A, he featured in 51 matches and scored just 4 goals. Competition for wing spots and tactical mismatches reduced his impact. Consequently, his confidence dipped despite occasional flashes in European games.
Next, the loan move to Fulham in September 2025 transformed everything. Chukwueze has already registered three goals and four assists in 17 Premier League appearances. He also shows strong numbers in successful dribbles and progressive carries. Furthermore, he formed exciting partnerships with Fulham’s attackers. The highlight came in December when he scored a brilliant brace against Manchester City. This moment clearly showed his quality when coaches give him regular minutes and freedom to express himself.
Moreover, Chukwueze has already told Fulham’s management that he feels happy to stay next season. He loves the welcoming atmosphere at Craven Cottage and the trust from the coaching staff. Currently, he joins international duty with the Super Eagles. He prepares for friendly matches against Iran and Jordan in Antalya, Turkey, alongside teammates Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi.
Meanwhile, the proposed deal benefits all parties. Milan will receive funds to rebuild their squad. Fulham, on the other hand, secure a talented winger in his prime. At 26, Chukwueze now enters his peak years. The Premier League’s intensity suits his athletic profile perfectly after this strong revival.
