The Federal Government (FG) has declared 6 and 9 of June as public holidays to commemorate this year’s Eid-ul-Adha celebration.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the FG.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Minister congratulated the Muslim Ummah both in Nigeria and the diaspora on the occasion of the Islamic festival.
Tunji-Ojo urged Muslims to uphold the values of sacrifice and faith as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him).
He encouraged them to use the festive period to offer prayers for a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria.

He reaffirmed the FG’s commitment to people-focused reforms and initiatives under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, aimed at putting the country back on the path of progress.
While extending his best wishes for a joyful Eid-ul-Adha celebration, the Minister called on all Nigerians to support the current administration’s efforts in restoring Nigeria’s image as a great nation.
