The Federal Government has approved N452 billion for the construction and rehabilitation of 14 major roads nationwide, under the Renewed Hope Administration’s infrastructure initiative.
Announced by the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, following the 23rd Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, the funding will expedite the completion of these projects and enhance connectivity across various states.
Among the approved projects is the N22 billion Agaie-Katcha-Baro Road in Niger State, set to be handled by GR Building Construction Limited.
Other key projects include the N26.335 billion rehabilitation of the Odukpani Junction section of the Calabar–Ikom–Ogoja Road in Cross River State, the N10.89 billion Ajaokuta-Ajibo/Iyana-Mosa Road in Ogun State, and the N14.37 billion Umuahia Ituano-Ikot Ekpene Road.
Additionally, the Federal Government allocated N30 billion for the Lagos–Ibadan Road to complete the Lagos-bound section and approved N7 billion for the AK Bypass rescoping, which will be managed by Ghitto Construction Limited.
The government also green-lit several water supply infrastructure projects in Abuja and surrounding areas, as part of its broader commitment to improving national infrastructure.
Umahi reassured that all ongoing projects would be closely monitored for timely completion.
