The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has embarked on a renewed three-month security operation aimed at dismantling criminal networks and maintaining the growing sense of safety across Abuja and its environs.
Commissioner of Police (CP) Miller Dantawaye, in a signed document shared on Sunday, announced the commencement of the large-scale operation, which will run from November 2025 through January 2026, with all tactical, surveillance, and divisional units mobilised for coordinated field activities.
The exercise brings together operatives from the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), the Police Mobile Force (PMF), the Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), and the Department of Operations in what the Command describes as an “extensive cleanup operation” across the Territory.
According to CP Dantawaye, the operation is designed to identify and dislodge criminal elements operating from black spots and remote hideouts within the FCT.

He noted that the approach will combine intelligence-led policing with sustained patrols and targeted raids in communities identified as vulnerable to criminal infiltration.
“The exercise will be conducted with intensity and consistency,” Dantawaye stated, adding that officers have been instructed to dominate public spaces and maintain high visibility to deter potential offenders.
He also issued a stern warning to personnel, stressing that professionalism and respect for human rights must remain central to the exercise.
“No lapse, misconduct, or act of unprofessionalism will be tolerated under any guise. He charged them to uphold the highest standards of discipline, integrity, and respect for human rights while carrying out the operation,” he said.
The Commissioner appealed to residents for maximum cooperation, urging them to support the effort by sharing timely information and reporting suspicious movements. He noted that community engagement remains key to sustaining the relative peace currently enjoyed in the FCT.
Residents can reach the Police Command Control Room for emergencies through the following numbers: 08061581938 or 08032003913.
The statement further noted that reports can also be sent to the Complaint Response Unit (CRU) via 08107314192.
Police spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to the safety of all FCT residents, assuring that the operation will be executed with diligence and transparency.
